Snyder’s of Hanover® wins two Progressive Grocer Editor’s Pick Awards

HANOVER, Pa. (August 27, 2012) – Snyder’s of Hanover Bacon Cheddar Pretzel Pieces and EatSmart Naturals Potato Crisps have been chosen by Progressive Grocer as Editor’s Picks. Both snacks were recognized, out of a pool of more than 300 entries, as two of the best new consumer products introduced in 2012. They will be honored as Editor’s Picks in the August print issue of Progressive Grocer as well as on the Progressive Grocer website.

Bacon Cheddar Pretzel Pieces began hitting store shelves in January 2012 and are the seventh variety of Snyder’s of Hanover flavored Pretzel Pieces. The sourdough hard pretzel pieces combine two of America’s favorite foods: bacon and cheese. Embracing the nation’s continued obsession with the popular meat, the new Bacon Cheddar Pretzel Pieces incorporate a cherished traditional smokehouse flavor with the perfect touch of cheddar cheese. Bacon Cheddar Pretzel Pieces have 30 percent less fat than traditional flavored potato chips and are available in 12 oz. bags for around $3.49.

With 65% less fat than traditional potato chips, the all-natural popped—not baked or fried —EatSmart Naturals Potato Crisps debuted in grocery stores in January 2012. Available in Original, Sea Salt & Vinegar or Mesquite BBQ varieties, the new “better-for-you” snacks are a good source of fiber with 3 grams per serving. EatSmart Naturals Potato Crisps contain 0 grams fat, 0 grams saturated fat and no preservatives. The new Potato Crisps are available in 4 oz. bags for around $3.99.
