HANOVER, PA –December 2009 – Spending time with family and friends is what the holiday season is all about. Snyder’s of Hanover would like to help make that time especially delicious and budget friendly by providing three pretzel recipes perfect for your next holiday party. Great for kids and adults, all of these recipes cost under a $1.00 (per serving) to make!

Snyder’s of Hanover Chocolate Holiday Pretzel Rod

 

 4 ounces chocolate candy coating

12 large Snyder’s of Hanover Pretzel Rods

Toppings (red and green sprinkles, M&M’s®, or gum drops)

 

1.     Line a cookie sheet with waxed paper. 

2.     Melt the chocolate according to the package. 

3.     After the chocolate has been melted, dip the Snyder’s of Hanover Pretzel Rods into it, covering at least half of the pretzel rod.  Allow the excess chocolate to drip off.

4.     Sprinkle dipped pretzel rods with red and green toppings. 

5.     Drizzle additional chocolate onto the pretzel rod if desired. 

6.     Place on the cookie sheet and let set until the chocolate is firm.  Store at room temperature in an airtight container. 

 

Snyder’s of Hanover Holiday Pretzel Wreath

 

1 package (about 6 oz.) of your favorite chocolate (milk, dark, or white)

1 bag (9 or 10 oz.) of Snyder’s of Hanover pretzels (mini’s, thins, or homestyle)

Red and green candies (M&M’s, jelly beans, sugar sprinkles)

1 package of red shoestring licorice

Wax paper

 

1.     Line a cookie sheet with wax paper. 

2.     Melt chocolate in microwave or double boiler; stir.

3.     Using tongs or a fork, dip the pretzels into the chocolate and layer in a circle, like a wreath, onto the wax paper. 

4.     After the wreath(s) are formed, use the red and green candies to sprinkle or place on top of the wreath(s).

5.     When you have completed the wreath(s), cool until set.  Once the chocolate has set, use the shoestring licorice to tie into a bow, at the top of the wreath.

 

Snyder’s of Hanover Festive Chocolate Snaps

 

1 (10 ounce) bags of Snyder’s of Hanover Pretzel Snaps  

1 (17 5/8 ounce) bag holiday M&Ms plain chocolate candies (red & green) 

1 (13 ounce) bags HERSHEY’S® chocolate kisses (peanut butter or caramel filled variety)  

 

1. Preheat oven to 170 degrees.

2. Open the bags of Snyder's of Hanover pretzel snaps and remove all the unbroken pretzels.

3. Place them on waxed paper-lined cookie sheets in a single layer.

4. Unwrap Kisses, place one on each pretzel, repeat for an entire cookie sheet.

5. Place cookie sheet/s in the preheated oven, bake for 4-5 minutes for the pretzels and Kisses.

8. Immediately upon removing from the oven, place one M&M on top of each pretzel/chocolate.

9. Place cookie sheet in freezer for 8-10 minutes, to allow chocolate to re-set.
