Strawberry Pretzel Dessert
Ingredients:
2 cups finely crushed pretzels
3/4 cup butter, melted
2 tablespoons sugar
FILLING:
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
1 (8 ounce) carton thawed whipped topping,
Topping:
1 (6 ounce) package strawberry gelatin
1 qt. (4 cups) fresh strawberries, sliced
2 cups boiling water
1/2 cup cold water
Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, combine the pretzels, butter and sugar. Press into the bottom of an ungreased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes. Cool completely.
2. In a large mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Stir in whipped topping. Spread over pretzel crust. Cover and refrigerate until chilled.
3. For topping, in a small bowl, dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Add cold water; chill about 1 and a half hours or until thickened. Stir in strawberries. Carefully spoon over cream cheese layer. Cover and refrigerate for 3 hours or until firm. Cut into squares. Makes 20 servings.
