Hummus Dip

Hummus Dip


  • 1 can chickpeas, rinsed and drained
  • ½ cup tahini
  • ¼ cup fresh lemon juice (or more to taste)
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Water
  • Seasoning options: Cumin, Red Pepper or Cayenne Pepper, Paprika Oregano


  1. In a food processor, puree the chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic and salt. If the hummus is too thick, add water, 1 tablespoon at a time and process until you have reached your desired consistency.

  2. Stir in your choice of seasonings; cover and refrigerate until ready to serve
  3. When ready to serve, drizzle on a little olive oil and top with your choice of toppings.  Some ideas are diced roasted or fresh red peppers, diced onions and/or garlic.
