Christmas Tree Pretzel Pops

  • Snyder’s of Hanover® pretzel Rods
  • 5 cups  crispy rice cereal
  • ¼ c margarine or butter
  • 10 oz. regular marshmallows (about 40)
  • Cake Mate Easy Squeeze, green
  • For Tree Pretzel Pop on left:
  • Cake Mate Easy Squeeze or Writing Icing in various colors to create tree decorations
  • For Tree Pretzel Pop on right:
  • Cake Mate Cupcake Gems, Perfect Pearls

  1. Line a cookie sheet with wax paper; set aside.

  2. In a large saucepan, over low heat, melt butter or margarine; stir in marshmallows and stir until completely melted; remove from heat. Then, add rice cereal and stir until well coated.

  3. Using a buttered spatula or large spoon, place some of the mixture on the wax-paper lined baking sheet and quickly form into a triangle. With the buttered utensil, make a slit in the center of the triangle and spread open slightly.

  4. Insert a Snyder’s of Hanover® Pretzel Rod and enclose in the rice cereal mixture. Repeat with remaining mixture. Let cool.

  5. Coat the triangle trees with green Cake Mate Easy Squeeze. For added texture, you can swirl, dot, or create a smooth surface. Decorate with various colors of Easy Squeeze or Writing Icing or drop in some Perfect Pearls for a lighted tree effect.

  6. Idea: You can make Christmas Tree Ornaments by shaping the cereal mixture into a ball or even a candy cane shape!
