Step 1
The pretzel dough is mixed and kneaded.
Step 2
The dough is rolled out into one long piece called a "noodle."
Step 3
Here, the dough is twisted into the familiar pretzel shape.
Step 4
The twisted dough is left to rise on this conveyor belt.
Step 5
The pretzels are washed in a solution that creates a "skin" that will bake to brown. This solution also helps the salt adhere to the dough.
Step 6
The pretzels are salted and baked.
Step 7
A vibrating conveyor belt shakes off the excess salt and carries the pretzels to be weighed and packaged.
Step 8
The pretzels are weighed...
Step 9
... bagged and then sealed.
Step 10
Finally, they are boxed and ready to be sent off to the Snyder¹s Bakery section of your grocery store.
